INTERPRETING CANCER

Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body.

How Do You Wear It?

Official Selection for the 2018 Crafts Council Real To Reel Film Festival

How do you communicate without speaking?

Jenni Burrows uses textile art as a therapy for the diagnosis and treatment of skin Lymphoma. Skin Lymphoma is a rare cancer of the blood that is only in the layers of the skin in her case. Fewer than 10 out of every million people in the UK develop the disease each year. It behaves more like a long-term chronic skin condition than like a cancer. 'How do you wear it?' explores the effects skin lymphoma has on Jenni's life, she is currently creating wearable art to show what the hidden disease is like to wear on your skin.

COPING WITH CANCER

"I have reassured her that primary cutaneous CD30+ anaplastic large cell lymphomas have an excellent outlook."
